It’s our birthday! And not just any birthday, October 2021 is UK virtual’s 10th anniversary! Starting back in 2011 by UNI101 Si and UNI103 Daz as prop hops, UK virtual has now grown to a virtual airline offering over 175 real world airlines with 40,000 schedules, 200+ active members per month, and combined hours of 110,000 with 65,000 flights!
To celebrate our birthday we have some exciting group flights coming up, some amazing prizes to be won, bespoke awards to achieve, brand new tours to sink your teeth into and most importantly our UK virtual members meet up in Manchester!

Flight Operations – UNI154 Ryan
All tours have now closed to our UK virtual members. Our winter collection will be available from the 1st November 2021 with over 15 new tours for our winter season. Next month to celebrate our birthday we have some exclusive awards to win just by flying. In addition every member who completes the challenge will receive a prize to be announced at the end of the month. The awards are as follows:
- Bronze Birthday award – Complete any 15 scheduled flights in October
- Silver Birthday award – Complete any 25 scheduled flights in October
- Gold Birthday award – Complete any 50 scheduled flights in October
Normal flight regulations apply, to qualify your flights MUST be a scheduled flight not charter mode and we would ask that you fly a variety of flights, not the same route.

Our real world meet up this year will be the first we have been able to hold since the pandemic in person, and made extra special with our birthday celebrations. For those members who we will be meeting in person in Manchester we cannot wait to meet you however we know alot of our members could not make it this year therefore we will be live streaming our presentation on Saturday 16th October 2021 from 0915Zulu – 1100Zulu on Discord. Do tune in to see the brand new developments coming to UK virtual, we have some exciting announcements you will not want to miss!
We have a brand new partnership with Boundless who offer some great scenery for X-Plane and MSFS. Flight Reports Manager – UNI1011 Chris
Not much to report from my side this month. Just the usual couple of reminders about PIREPs:
The FlyVFE flights (VFE prefix) have a mandatory aircraft to be used. If this is the only schedule for your chosen route and you don’t want to fly the FlyVFE 737-800 or or Seneca, please use charter mode instead.
Don’t forget to check your PIREP when you finish your flight. If your PIREP has anything which could cause a rejection (stalls, overspeeds, long pauses etc), there should be a comment on it giving a reason. Without a reason, the chance of a rejected PIREP is much higher.
